Really, the advantages of booking systems are endless. We’ve already covered many of the basics of online booking systems but we couldn’t resist adding to the list of features and advantages out there. If getting your products and services into the hands of as many people as possible is a priority for you, online booking allows a level of flexibility to do so. Up-selling, tourist-friendly bookings and mobile device functionality can give both your customers and staff the tools they need to get the most out of what your business has to offer.
Up-selling during the booking process is a great way to add value to your services and increase profit. Think about all the add-ons you can choose when booking a flight. Naturally, each business will have different things they can upsell so it’s up to you to identify possible options. It may be sports equipment or safety gear when renting a court or field; food or drink when booking a tour; complimentary services such as treatments when you get your hair cut; sauna use after a fitness class; or early check in, wake up calls and bike hire when accommodation is booked. The options are limitless.
Online booking is great for travellers. It allows them to plan and book their holiday in advance and at their leisure. While this starts with flights and accommodation, many people like to lock in events, tours and dining before they go on holiday. This way they have a full itinerary and can make the most out of their trip. Being able to book things in without having to go to a travel agent or call an international number is a huge advantage for travellers. Also, being able to do so at their leisure with instant confirmation, no matter what time they book or where they are booking from, may be the difference between using your business and not.
Mobile device functionality makes bookings simpler and easier to facilitate for both customers and staff. When staff can secure a booking right on the spot there’s less room for the customer to change their mind. This is a huge advantage for tour companies especially with staff or third-party companies selling to tourists out on the streets. If staff can process bookings from a range of mobile devices, not just a computer, you can increase the number of clients you reach and decrease the amount lost. The same goes for if a customer is making the booking. Being able to book straight from their phone rather than going to the effort of calling up your business is a deal breaker for many people these days.
Online booking systems give you access to the most diverse range of potential customers while giving them flexibility and a greater amount of options for what they buy, when they buy and how they buy it. With up-selling you can add or remove items whenever you like, try out new offers, scrap ones that aren’t working or adapt for the changing seasons and peak times. Booking online makes every step of the process a whole lot easier for customers planning a holiday. While mobile device functionality helps your staff make more sales thanks to the quick, easy and flexible way bookings can be made.
